What is Calligraphy?

Calligraphy is the Art of Writing. We can call it a visual art of writing. We can properly Define Calligraphy as;
“Art of using Signs in expressive and skilful manners”
Calligraphy as Art is not decipherable to every common man. Even if you don’t have an interest in calligraphy if you practice some basic techniques of paper crafting, greeting card making and similar small techniques.
Different Fonts of Calligraphy:
Are you also a person like me who thinks that Calligraphy is just designing Word Written on Cream Color paper then you are wrong?
Not every Calligraphy is the same there are different types of calligraphy and each type has its own styles and fonts. Here I will share my new knowledge with you which help you to improve your art and designing.
There are three basic types of Calligraphy.
· Western Calligraphy
· Arabic Calligraphy
· Oriental Calligraphy
Western Calligraphy:

This style is usually used in western countries and includes Latin alphabets. It includes Paper Crafting styles. Basic fonts in this style include.
Foundation hand
Are you a beginner? then this style is for you. This is probably the most firstly used style. This is the Easy one style for calligraphy.
Italic Hand
This is the most used style in the Italic hand. This style also called as Chancery is an appealing and attractive style.
Roman Writing
This style is “Rustic Alphabet” as it contains only the Capital letters. It gives an antique look.
Black letter script
Also called the “Gothic script” contains an angular letter. It is mainly used for old poems due to its chunky letters. Use it for wall Art as it will engage your viewer for some time.
Copperplate script
This is the most beautiful style as it is created by using sharp Nib pen. This style is mostly used to create an invitation. Although this is not easily readable but has good appeal by creators.
Arabic Calligraphy:

This Calligraphy is very famous with the Muslims. They used to write it for their Holy Book Quran and consider it as a Vision of God’s decision.
Commonly used styles are.
Kufic Calligraphy
This styling has horizontal words with some signs. Nowadays this styling is mostly used for carving on stones and architectural works. This styling uses red ink.
Nashik Calligraphy
This Style is fine and readable. Arabic writing usually proceeds in this styling. Arabic poems can also be written in this style. A delicate text is created by using this styling of the Arabic language.
Oriental Calligraphy:

This styling is an ancient type of styling used widely. It is called Chinese styling. It uses A tapered brush instead of Nib and Pen. It is used precisely to create an amazing look of text. This Calligraphy evolved from centuries and now we can use its amazing content. Most important styles in this calligraphy include; ZuanLi, T Sao, Hsin and Kai. These all have been evolved in Chinese history. These artistic styles are most common due to their expressions.
